Professional Skills
Whether you dream of launching an entrepreneurial startup, saving lives as a Nurse Practitioner, or building the next big innovation in the world of engineering, FBLA is your launchpad. We regularly host guest speakers from a wide range of careers — giving you personalized insight into what it really takes to thrive in today’s workforce. But that is not all! Through fun, hands-on socials, you will sharpen essential skills like interviewing, teamwork, communication, and even professional email etiquette. At FBLA, we do more than just talk about success — we prepare you to own it.
Service
Community service is not just a requirement in FBLA — it is a core part of who we are as a Chapter. From volunteering at school events to helping light up the night at the St. Louis Water Lantern Festival, our members stay active, involved, and inspired. While we ask for 12.5 hours of community service each year, many of our members go above and beyond — not because they have to, but because they truly care. Competitions
Competitions are at the heart of our FBLA experience; since STEAM Academy opened its doors in 2019, our chapter has proudly advanced members from the District Leadership Conference at St. Louis University all the way to the State Leadership Conference at Missouri State University every single year. And 2025? That marks five consecutive years of sending members to the National Leadership Conference — with several earning top honors as some of the best young leaders in the nation! Whether you are eager to sharpen your public speaking, collaborate with a team, or challenge your knowledge in a specific field, there is a competition made for you.
